Tourist Breaks

The Dandenongs offers an abundance of attractions and what better way to fully enjoy the potential than a stay with us?

Throughout the Dandenong Ranges, there are hundreds of places to visit.  Far too many to see in just one brief visit to this iconic tourist destination.

A stay at the Chestnut Hill Conference Lodge will enable you to plan visits to the very many tourism attractions within easy reach of our facility.

Discover the endless beauty of the Dandenong National Park, wander the many townships that offer splendid restaurants, tearooms and boutique shops, such as Belgrave, Sassafras, Olinda and more.

Attractions such as the Puffing Billy Railway, Thomas the tank engine in Gembrook or the William Ricketts Sanctuary.
Outstanding gardens and displays that abound throughout the area such as the Tesselaar Tulip Festival, the Rhododendron gardens in Olinda (now named the Dandenong Ranges Botanic Garden), the George Tindale Gardens or the Alfred Nicholas Gardens.

The Lodge is within walking distance of the Kallista village shops.  The Kallista General Store holds wine tastings on Friday nights and Josephine's background in wine making will help you to make the best choice when selecting a wine for your picnic..  Grant's Picnic Ground is a few hundred metres further along Monbulk Road.

Belgrave Bakery is run by Fabio whose Italian Pasticceria and hot pies are very good value when you have hungry family out sightseeing.

Return each evening to the Kallista base to wind down and enjoy the hospitality of the Chestnut Hill Conference Lodge and plan your next day's journey of discovery
