 Let Paul Smith take you on a journey as he introduces you to the tools of this ancient profession and shares his knowledge of current day methods. You are taken through prehistoric, ancient Greek, Medieval and Modern day stoneworking. Paul is a current working stonemason/stone sculptor and is a co-director of Millstone Pty Ltd. Paul is also director of Ancient Trades and Arts.He has studied at London City and Guilds Art School and has a background working on projects from houses to historic building restorations. INTRODUCTION TO CONSTRUCTION WITH STONE

This is a short beginners' course directed at people who have the desire to build their own stone retaining or feature walls. This will be taught by Paul Smith who is a Churchill Fellowship recipient. Classes are small to enable skills to be learned. Beginners' stone walling aims to give the student basic skills and knowledge of stone wall construction. Includes set out, tools, foundations, stone types and techniques.
